ABOUT THE DIAMONDS
We are former players, moms, coaches, and teachers who realized that we did not have a recreational field hockey program in Denville/Rockaway. After several years of figuring out how we could introduce field hockey to the young ladies in our community, the PAL offered to sponsor our program.
Without the PAL, and YOUR SUPPORT, we would not have been able to get this program up and running. We hope that in partnering with the MKHS and MHHS coaches, we can build a strong feeder program for our district high schools, while providing a fun, exciting, and memorable experience for the girls in the Denville/Rockaway area. If you are local and your town does not have a program, please know this is also available to you!
Our program will consist of two levels: clinic and travel. The clinic level will include girls entering grades K-4 for the upcoming school year and the travel level will include girls entering grades 5-8 for the upcoming school year.
All levels will have 2 practices a week with the dates/times to be set by the coaches. Clinic will scrimmage on Saturday mornings and travel will play in league based games on Saturdays. The season does not officially start until after Labor Day, however, practices will begin the week of August 23, 2021. Our home field will be the Pocono Road field across from St. Clare's Hospital.
We are always looking for volunteers! If you are interested in coaching or helping the program in any way, please reach out! As a new program fundraising will be crucial in helping us purchase our goals ("cages"), balls, and other equipment.
